What is the Harrogate Chocolate Factory Café?

The Harrogate Chocolate Factory Café is a social enterprise started and ran by local charity HS4LC. Our café provides a training ground for young adults with learning disabilities and autism to gain vital work skills and experience in retail, catering and general public interaction and customer service. The aim is to help our trainees with independence and to gain the skills and experience needed to gain employment. We are open to the general public everyday except Sundays and bank holidays. 

Where are you located?

Our address is 1-2 Odeon buildings, East Parade, Harrogate, HG1 5LH. We are based in the centre of Harrogate town, next door to the Odeon cinema. The building was formally known to locals as The Little Red Bike Shop.

Is the Harrogate Chocolate Factory Café child friendly?

Yes our café is child friendly. We have highchairs and baby changing available. We also have a children’s menu which offers the same as the adults menu but in a child’s portion and we also sell children’s drinks.

Do you have outdoor seating?

Yes we do…in the nicer weather we have our front outdoor seated area that enables you to sit and watch the world go by facing out onto East Parade but we also have another lovely more private outdoor seated area at the back of the café. 

Is the café wheelchair friendly?

We are fully wheelchair accessible and we have a disability access toilets also.

Do you accept cash and card payments?

We accept both cash and card payments. 

Do you have WIFI?

Yes we have a free WIFI code please ask staff for the password when you arrive. 

Do you allow dogs?

We allow dogs on certain days. some of our trainees may be scared of dogs. please give us a call if you have any queries before you arrive so we can inform you if that day would or wouldn’t be suitable to bring your dog along. 

Can our social group meet at the Harrogate chocolate factory café?

 Yes your social group can meet here. We only ask if more than 6 people then please pre-book with us through our social media accounts or give us a call. 

Do you sell gluten free food?

We sell gluten free alternatives. We have a daily selection of cakes which can be seen in our cake fridge in the café. You can also ring us before and ask before you come along. We also have gluten free bread alternatives to our toasties/sandwiches and paninis. 

Do you sell dairy free alternatives?

 We have a selection of different milk’s available for your coffees. we sell Oat, Soya and Coconut milk. and we also have dairy free butter if required for your sandwiches. All of our cakes have dairy in unfortunately and so do our milkshakes due to the milkshake powder that we use. 

How big is The Chocolate Factory Café? 

  Our indoor seated area can comfortably fit around 35 covers. In the warmer months we have the addition of our front and rear outdoor seated areas. We can accommodate for larger groups if booked in advance. Feel free to give us a call and speak to one of our staff members for more details.
